Love books? Join Melbourne’s bibliophiles at the city’s largest weekly book market, in The Atrium at Fed Square.

Each week you can immerse yourself in over 5000 new and pre-loved titles, including literature, history, gardening, travel, art and kids stories.

The Book Market regularly features around 15 of Melbourne’s most experienced book dealers as well as authors and illustrators and some of Melbourne’s best buskers!

Story Box Library turns 100 Stories Old! | 11am – 3pm
To celebrate this milestone, Story Box Library have made May Gibbs’ Tales from the Gum Tree their free preview story for the month of May and, thanks to Scholastic Australia, have 100 beautiful hardcover copies of the book to giveaway. Visit the Books Illustrated stand and sign up for a 12-month family subscription ($29.95) for your free hardcover copy or watch Kate Ritchie’s reading of the book here.

Live Illustrations – Robin Cowcher | 12pm – 2pm
See how Robin created the illustrations for the newly released picture book You have my Heart, written by Corinne Fenton. Corinne will also join Robin to personally sign books.

Live Illustrations – Annie White | 3pm – 5pm
Watch as Annie demonstrates her illustration style from recent picture books including My Dad Is A Bear, shortlisted in the 2015 Prime Minister’s Awards Children’s Fiction. Written by Nicola Connelly and published by New Frontier Publishing. Other titles featured will be the well-loved Clementine’s Walk, Clementine’s Bath and old favourite, The Ugly Duckling.
