Fed Square is Going Smoke Free

We have some news to share! As of 1 November, 2017, Fed Square will officially be a non-smoking precinct.

The change comes in response to the reforms to the Tobacco Act associated with outdoor dining that came into effect on August 01 2017. This reform saw a number of requirements set in place including no smoking within 4 metres of a building where outdoor dining occurs and within 10 metres of a food stall or food vendor at organised outdoor events. This was enacted at the multiple dining venues across the Square, however some tenants still have the capacity to accommodate smoking patrons under this reform.

With such positive feedback from both our visitors and tenants after this amendment, we decided to make Fed Square a non-smoking precinct. We want everyone to be able to enjoy the space and make it a healthy and happy Melbourne destination!

For visitors to the Square who wish to smoke, there will be designated smoking areas outside of the Fed Square precinct marked by signs. We’re also here to help, so please don’t hesitate to ask security and visitor services if you’re having trouble finding these zones.
