9 January 2019

Get off the couch and into Fed Square this summer to catch great sporting matches and moments on Melbourne’s biggest outdoor screen!

From January to March, Fed Square is screening some of the biggest and best sporting events from Australia and across the globe.

Sports lovers are being encouraged to make their way to Fed Square to catch summer tennis, cricket, AFLW, soccer, basketball, and even the Superbowl on the state of the art five-storey Digital Façade, and big screens in the Upper Square and Atrium.

Fed Square CEO Jonathan Tribe said Fed Square is a sports lover haven this summer.

“Fed Square really shines in summer!  Since its reveal in August, the Digital Facade has quickly become a Melbourne icon and has attracted thousands of people to Fed Square.  We are thrilled to be able to show these fantastic sporting events on the Digital Facade,” said Tribe.

As part of the Summer of Sports, golf-enthusiasts can head to River Terrace until 4 February and take part in Disney’s Pixar Putt, an 18-hole mini golf course inspired by the beloved stories, characters and icons from some of Disney-Pixar’s most iconic films!  Guests can wander through Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Inside Out and Coco to try and score a hole in one!

Tennis fanatics can see their favorite stars as they’ve never seen them before on the five-storey Digital Facade at the KIA Tennis Live Site from 14 – 27 January.

The main square will be fitted out with sun lounges and deck chairs for sports fans to take in the views, and a delightful PIMMS Pop-Up Bar will be on site to serve refreshing drinks (for those over 18 years of age).

The 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Fixture takes to the main screen in February, with games kicking off just before 5pm and on 15 February, get ready for the game of the decade with the NRL Indigenous All-Stars v New Zealand Maori match.

For those wanting to start 2019 the right way, there’s also free early morning boot-camp classes three times a week as part of Fed Square: FIT!  This new program is run by professional Personal Trainers from Get Going PT.  Classes include Boxing, Guided Stretching and Circuit Training.
