Get the Most out of Your Visit to Fed Square

Federation Square has a range of teacher resources, including worksheets, to support classroom preparations for a school excursion to Fed Square.

Worksheets are available upon request for architecture and design, and the story of Federation.  Specific resources can be developed to suit the age group, needs and requirements of your class.

You can also find practical information about Federation Square in the attached fact sheet for visiting schools.

Teacher Testimonial

“The Level Four students and teachers from Middle Park Primary School had a wonderful time on August 30th celebrating Melbourne’s 176th birthday at Fed Square.

This excursion suited our needs as we have been studying the Arts and how we express ourselves. The students were able to learn about the history of Melbourne settlement through drama workshops which allowed students to step out of their comfort zone and perform a variety of drama techniques.

The drama leaders running the activities kept students engaged and active and the students loved dressing up in costumes. It was wonderful to be using different areas of Federation Square and seeing different parts of Melbourne.

As a Level Four teacher, I would recommend this experience to upper Primary teachers who are studying settlement history and/or the dramatic arts. It was an excellent way for students to express their learning and increase their confidence when acting. The students enjoyed being in the heart of Melbourne on a very special day, singing Happy Birthday, performing on stage and seeing themselves on the Big Screen.”
