Meet the Fed Square Pty Ltd Team

Chief Executive Officer: Chris Brooks 

 

Chris Brooks HeadshotChris Brooks commenced as Chief Executive of Fed Square Pty Ltd in January 2014. Chris has more than 20 years experience as a Chief Executive in public and private organisations spanning the finance, government, energy and consulting sectors, including Chief Executive of Unidel Group in Brisbane, Queensland, Chief Executive of MyState Financial in Hobart, Tasmania, General Manager of Launceston City Council (incorporating the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery) and Chief Executive of Major Projects Tasmania. Chris brings extensive experience in international commercial negotiations and investment attraction, which is combined with a strong background in leadership and organisational development. Chris is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has previously served on the Board of the Infrastructure Association of Queensland, AETV Power and the Tasmanian Development Authority.

 


 

Manager – Corporate Services: Bill Blakeney

Bill Blakeney commenced at Fed Square Pty Ltd in June 2000 as Manager Corporate Services, two years before the opening of Federation Square. Bill has 35 years financial and general management experience in public sector organisations, including 10 years at the National Gallery of Victoria as Finance Manager and 10 years in senior administrative/finance roles at the Victorian College of Agriculture and Horticulture. Bill is Vice President of the Yarra River Business Association, a Finance Committee member for Interact Ltd and until recently was a member of the Retail Sub-Committee of the Property Council of Australia. He is a member of CPA Australia, Australian Institute of Company Directors, Venue Management Association and Fed Square Pty Ltd’s representative for the International Special Events Society and Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 

 


 

Manager – Marketing + Program: Jane Sydenham-Clarke

 

JaneJane Sydenham-Clarke commenced in the role of Marketing and Program Manager of Fed Square Pty Ltd in March 2006 spanning multimedia, events, creative, education, marketing and tourism portfolios. She came with particular interest in the relationships between new media communications, place making and community capacity building. Previously she was the Director of her own consultancy company specializing in social marketing and communications for various public authorities and corporations. Prior to this, as Precinct and Marketing Manager at Southgate Arts and Leisure Precinct, she led an award winning team across cultural, tourism, retail and property marketing. While as Marketing and Communications Manager at the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation her focus was on sports and arts sponsorship, media and communications to effect mass cultural change. She came to these roles as a registered general and psychiatric nurse with academic qualifications from Monash University BA (Hons) Sociology and MA Communications, and is a graduate of the Leadership Victoria Program and Institute of Company Directors. Community contributions have included Chair Health Issues Centre and Committee of Management Centre for Grief Education.
