10 Minute Culture Fix

So you don't know your modernists from your surrealists and exactly where do those abstractionists fit in? Or perhaps the concepts behind claymation turn your mind to putty! Sounds like you need a 10 Minute Culture Fix.

Enjoy a free taste of Melbourne's exhibitions, films, galleries and cultural rarities at Fed Square with this weekly behind-the-scenes snapshot  - all neatly explained for the time poor or conversationally challenged.

Just look for the 10 Minute Culture Fix signs located at the entrance to The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia and ACMI for directions on how to find these very special works.

Shadow Monsters, 2005

Interactive installation

Created by Philip Worthington

ACMI-Shadow-Monsters

Philip Worthington's Shadow Monsters is a playful real-time interactive experience. Creatures are formed from the silhouettes of participants, evoking childhood memories of standing in front of a projected light and casting shadows on a wall. Exhibition visitors are invited to perform in front of a large-scale light box. A camera captures your shadow and is inputted into a computer which projects the transformed shapes onto a screen.
