A Unique Outdoor Venue in Melbourne’s CBD
The Amphitheatre is Federation Square’s most intimate outdoor venue. Located opposite St Paul’s Cathedral, it provides an entry point into Federation Square from Flinders Street, with regular pedestrian traffic. The central space has a flat surface of concrete pavers covered in synthetic grass and is encircled by zinc-clad walls. An ascending staircase to the Main Square provides a natural ‘grandstand’ with seating for up to 300 people. The Amphitheatre is an excellent Melbourne venue for public performances, artistic installations, leisure activities and promotional events.
