Photographer Martha Cooper is considered one of the most important urban photographers of the past fifty years. Her iconic images of graffiti and subway art in the 1970s captured long since destroyed works of art and helped launch the modern street art and hip hop movements.
Martha is joined in conversation with artist RONE. The two iconic creatives discussing who reclaiming public space, the value of ephemeral art and what creates a cultural movement – followed by a Q&A with the audience.
Martha is in Australia in anticipation of the release of the feature documentary Martha: A Picture Story and exhibition series Martha Cooper: Street Shots 1979 – 2019.
