Now in its 16th year, Screen It is the largest national moving image competition for students from Foundation to Year 12. Students are encouraged to challenge the limits of their imaginations and enter a film, animation or videogame. Screen It is free to enter!

Entries open Monday 24 June 2019

Entries close Wednesday 25 September 2019

Screen It offers winners industry recognition, ongoing exhibition opportunities and great prizes including professional HD cameras, microphones, animation software, videogame controllers and more.

Award categories include:

• Best Animated Film

• Best Live Action Film

• Best Videogame

• Best Inclusive Team Entry

• Special Mentions and Encouragement awards

Each year, Screen It entrants are challenged to respond to a key concept or theme designed to bring learning areas together and promote creative and critical thinking.

This year’s theme is LISTEN.

Who can enter?

Students can enter individually, as a team or as part of a class or school entry.

Competition categories include Animation, Live action and Videogames in the following age groups:

• Foundation – Year 4

• Year 5 – Year 8

• Year 9 – Year 12

About our new award: Best Inclusive Team Entry

In 2019 we will present a ‘Best Inclusive Team Entry’ award, celebrating diversity and encouraging schools to find inclusive ways to support and harness the talents of all students as part of Screen It.

On 31 May 2019, ACMI will offer a videoconference that provides practical advice on how to support learners with cognitive, sensory, physical and social-emotional differences to participate in ACMI’s Screen It Competition.
