An iconic Melbourne bar and cafe nestled in the historic Federation Wharf vaults.
The Federation Wharf vaults were built in 1889 and have played a major part in Melbourne’s waterfront history. Riverland opened its doors in 2006 but prior to that the vaults have been home to many businesses including a boat builder, ferry service, coffee importer and model aeroplane manufacturer.
Designed by leading Melbourne architects, Six Degrees, Riverland provides a relaxed space with a warm atmosphere where people can enjoy the company of friends and take in a view that includes rowers, picturesque gardens and the Arts Centre precinct.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Riverland’s menus cater for a variety of tastes. There’s nothing like a BBQ on the Yarra and the gourmet sausages with caramelised onions, tangy sauerkraut and sweet tomato sauce from the outdoor BBQ are a big hit. Come down and enjoy the relaxed hospitality.
Wednesday – Sunday | 12pm – 6pm
Open public holidays (except Good Friday)
Treat yourself to a silky smooth and delicious Popstic ice cream from the brand new shop at Riverland. Popstic serves up creme anglaise based ice cream and sorbets made without compromise and in small batches in the Popstic kitchen. The generous, honest flavours are designed to delight – there’s no Tiramisu, Nutella or wacky flavours, over the top inclusions, garish decorations and definitely no syringes. Just classic flavours made simply and well. Chocolate, French Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Macadamia Praline, Raspberry Sorbet, Coconut Sorbet and fresh seasonal flavours using local and fresh produce where possible.
Riverland is a versatile space that accommodates both small and large groups – up to 700 people. They have indoor and outdoor facilities, with optional marquee hire. There are several menus and drink options available, including delicious canapés and Riverland’s signature smoked duck sausages on the BBQ.
